This metaphor intro to explain, dear readers, that this new album is completely in the spirit of Kreator in recent years, from "Violent Revolution" to "Horde of Chaos", the surprises are not in order, that you know exactly where you walk with the latter offering but, as always, Mille Petrozza and his band (note that the line-up has been stable since "Violent Revolution", more than ten years, which n ' had never happened in the history of the group) have concocted a missile handle of a surly Thrash which not pretending.
We will not beat around the bush for hours and hours. Those who never liked the group will not like it today (but anyway, these people do not read this column). Others will gladly return the giant German Thrash in an exercise that mastery to perfection. In "Mars Mantra" / "Phantom Antichrist" to "Until Our Paths Cross Again", guests are treated to riffs that looks sometimes Slayeriennes ("Phantom Antichrist"), hysterical rhythmic ("Civilization Collapse", "United in Hate" ), verbal abuse (the lyrics are always so vindictive), stunning solos' but also good melodic parts here and there dotting this new album.
Without a surprise, Kreator still manages to enthuse us. For proof, the song "From Flood Into Fire" at the martial rhythm and the chorus chanted in chorus that will inevitably make its small effect live. Title with a well-melodic central part with a beautiful solo duel. Sami Yli-Sirniƶ and Mille Petrozza are two very complementary guitarists. My favorite piece of this new delivery. Other pieces take their game like "Civilization Collapse", a killer tumbling a hundred miles an hour hidden behind a misleading intro. The flow Mille is still impressive after all these years. "United in Hate" starts with an acoustic intro quiet before barbarism takes hold. And barbarity is not a term usurped. Kreator knows as a person in terms of musical aggression. "Your Heaven My Hell" we also offer a small well in the early part melodic title. A thousand whispers the words but you can well imagine that the entire song will be built on it. The solo on this piece is excellent.
"Until Our Paths Cross Again", the last song, with very melodic guitars again, ahead of a mid-tempo pace before packing furiously in its central part (with even a crazy solo).
Kreator is one of the few "old bands" including new compositions worth old and that is why, in the setlists of the group's concerts, there are so many new compositions that old. This group does not live on his past, other major Thrash on the other side of the Atlantic should emulate '
So, to use the metaphor of the beginning of this column, the year 2012 promises to be a very good vintage for vintage Kreator. And, like good wine, we already know that this album is going to improve over the tracks.
To consume without moderation.
