Congratulations to Talib Kweli and thanks for Gutter Rainbows. An album which only "digital" appears in the home country, but no single and great promo on iTunes climbs the No.1 spot? Madness! And thanks to Duck Down Records that they have taken another veteran under her umbrella! I had the album a couple of times listen to make me a proper opinion. The result is a smooth 4-star menu, an album which inferior to his predecessors in nothing, neither the sound nor the lyrics. The story: After the intro a "Flute" dominant uptempo beat comes from 88-Keys with a Teacher at the microphone who wants to borrow the dumb voice, and the Obadachlosen a hope in life. In "So low" it will be a little chill, we're used to from him, sometimes to make the lighters. Shuko provides a nice "Laid Back" Beat. Then it is violently Palookas provides not only a psycho-hardcore drumbeat of Marco Polo, no also Sean Price from Duck Down Camp rattles a few verses down, Kopfnicker alarm of horror! Kweli makes clear here that it can also have "dissing" a slight hint to, or sometimes like a low-hanging! The next track is a small "letdown," Kweli told us MR.INTERNATIONAL of his excursions across the entire globe, and his experiences here, the beat is a little too friendly and shallow, to the Hook of singer Nigel Hall is not really grippy. The song IS NOT WAITING is similar in structure and in terms of speed, also not necessarily that what I want to hear, even when Talib over it lays a proper flow and text. Watch out at I'M ON ONE, MTV Raps Legend ED LOVER calls Talib on, the young show times where the microphone hangs, or how it should sound! The Beat is a classic / the song that will not think of! ), Kweli freestyled clever about it! The tracks 9-11 then form the absolute highlights of the album. Cold Rain (prod. SKI BEATZ) made before the release a decent buzz on the web. Again it is clear that the man looks messages and listen! Topics include religions and the fact is that nowadays condemned too fast, or people standing in the pillory, from which we know nothing. The rain is cold, the Message warm! Friends & Family is then another very warm song that neatly combines Syhnthesizer and bass, the hook is also well done, and here is nodding his head. On TATER TO (Prod. NICK SPEED), it is dark and scary, Kweli is the sole survivor in the machine-gun bullets and fights his way through a slightly monotonous, but still great beat. Also a little harder and gloomy sounds afterwards HOW YOU LOVE ME feat Blaq Toven who has also produced the track. The lady from the Blacksmith label JEAN GRAE, of course may not be missed, and also gets directly at UH OH the first word. From her, we certainly hear more sounds slightly NICKI .... who beat back harder, the organ comes ghostly :) Produced was the track of OH NO, a very trendy indie producers. To conclude then SAVIOR SELF self-healing, and soothing piano again, beautiful.
CONCLUSION: Talib Kweli is a gift for the hip-hop scene and the world. He never bent to the industry and always remained authentic. He speaks no nonsense, of which he knows nothing, but always brings a message in his songs over. He always finds a subject on which it is worth pondering, while also getting the right beat, carrying the message even closer to the listener and brings. There are 2-3 songs that I find not so good, but the album is a clear 4, with a tendency towards another classic. Ansoluter Best Buy !!!
