If anyone has such a great debut releast how Hypno5e did with "l'une des deux est l'autre", the expectations for future releases of course is immense. I can only speak from my subjective point of view, but for me is the first Hypno5ealbum a musical milestone, an album that loosely had the potential to widely engage their musical revolution (that sure sounds weird cocky, but actually, I'm serious). There really is little albums that I've heard about such a long time so often and without fatigue as "l'une des deux est l'autre", because it is nothing less than an event with incredibly many rough edges, in where there is heaps to discover subtleties.
And now so "Acid Mist Tomorrow". Curiosity and reluctance are about the same (one finally knows the destructive power of high expectations). There will be a copy or is there a development and one way or another: Can it maintain the high level?
The answer is a bit more complex than "Yes" or "No". Hypno5e have retained their distinctive style, which I can now only play totally inadequate in words as insane and maddening blend of Death Metal, calm, spherical Ambient sequences, gentle singing and ecstatic screams and scattered vocal samples, presumably from films that I do when I's to think of it, would rather not see. All this is available on "Acid Mist Tomorrow" to hear. What has changed, the mixture, the ratio of these components to each other. Despite the adulation on her debut - it was for me but a weak point: The Ambient Parts were me here and there too long and tiring. In "Acid Mist Tomorrow" this has turned into its opposite: It is unbelievable bludgeoned much for me in some places actually too much (and too much narrowness Beck Scheppere for my taste) and also tiring. Maybe that's part of the concept of this band that we really pushed to its limits, who knows ... But I like the quiet sequences now but overall better because you now can feel safe no longer until a the next attack of the feet brings and because they are no longer breathed so electronically, but more on the sound of A Backward Glance On A Travel Road (side project of the band who does not know it: Auschecköön!) oriented.
Fazitieren (Muha) Let's: The (negligible) defects of their debut they have repaid, but leave it on the opposite side to resurface. Otherwise, you get delivered the madness, as you can get it delivered only by Hypno5e. So the bottom line then isses compensated.
