My impressions are divided fairly. As for the service, you can quickly get used also to the new legal. Something strange I found that choices at the individual menu items forward, but not backward were possible, for example, when the ISO value you have to, to get from 200 to 100, wade through all the higher values to achieve the 100. Lt. Menu, it looks as if it were backwards, I did not manage with the best intentions. But did not bother me further.
Weight and size have increased. Against the new sees my DP1s downright small. The "M-class" is really a "knufflige" become compact, the soon approach comes from the size of small SLR.
Can be divided on the handling regard. Manual focus adjustment. Sure, the front of the lens ring it makes more sense and is catchy, but the fumbling, there adjust the focus is not to be underestimated when the same must hold the camera steady. Once you no longer handled at ringside, the image of a magnifying glass view jumps well again in the normal view back. I think it's better resolved in DP1s where it is done by means of a small wheel at the front.
Respect. ISO capability seem to have arisen improvements, you can now use up to 400 ISO with good quality, without visible deterioration exist. Some "800" were still viewable. Why one of this camera, however, ISO settings up to 6400 "donated" is completely unclear to me. You have to say that I, except me once selected RAW images with the Sigma program to watch, nachbearbeite not found in this context. As it comes out of the camera, it has to be right with me.
The aperture of the lens is better than the DP1s.
The images are comparable with those in my view of the sharp detail of the previous cameras, the resolution is of course higher, but for me not important, because I print any posters but most times 15x20 prints.
Here it should be noted quite quickly that the two batteries that come, have their meaning. The battery life has deteriorated compared to the previous models.
The display seems better resolve and is also larger. I would have preferred a good viewfinder. There are still only the viewfinder as a target help.
Whether the 1er or 2er is useful depends on the application. As almost exclusive landscape photographer is missing a really always can Weitwinkel.Das a little in other areas of application again be completely different; not for nothing that there are by now three DPs that are sure to have all their followers.
Whether the switch worthwhile, everyone must decide for themselves. I find my DP1s sexy.
Here again (except focal length) my comparisons in bullet points compared to DP1s:
+ Higher resolution
+ Operational readiness after turning faster
+ ISO suitability better
+ ISO values can be set in smaller increments
Image quality is still very good in good light
Operation simple as before
Still no viewfinder available
- Size and weight higher than previously
- Battery life is less than previously
- Focusing in my view cumbersome
+ - Storage time of the image again a little longer, it may
However, new pictures are taken during storage
Somehow, the part is in my opinion what specialists, I'm not one. I think it is admirable that Sigma still insists on its chip concept and thus also finds followers.
When actually comes times a Foveon chip in a compact full-frame, the calm may be slightly smaller again? That would be a sensation.
