- Acquisition of a WLAN repeater
- No wifi and laying a LAN cable to the router
- Installation of power adapters for Internet from the socket
- Laying of a USB extension cable to the next location with better reception
Of all the solutions seemed to me to buy a USB cable if not the most elegant, yet the most trouble, and most cost effective solution to be. But since I wanted to arrange the cord along the walls and under the baseboards, it had been this long cable be and I had to start strong doubts as to whether in such a cable length at all a signal would arrive at the computer.
To make it short - my fears were unfounded:
1) USB cable is relatively thin and flexible, but at the same time robust enough to can be laid without damage under the baseboards, so that it does not really stand disturbing in the room.
2) the WLAN stick is recognized when inserted immediately and the WLAN signal strength is classified by the Windows 7 Network Center as 'Good' (my smartphone demonstrated at the same point in space a similar signal strength). Playback of multimedia content over the Internet also makes no problems. If so signal losses, so it affects but definitely not the function of the cable.
3) On the workmanship of the extension cord there is in my opinion also nothing to complain about. It is comparable to the quality of USB cables, such as those peripherals typically settled with a USB port. The connectors are stuck, wiggle without the metal parts of the plug and socket in the Kunstoffummantelung and the cable thus has an overall stable impression.
All in all, a decent cable with no apparent weaknesses. Thus, a strong buy recommendation from me - 5 stars.
