The Speckgrabber has a soft tip and promises gentle and residue-free to remove dust particles by pure adhesive force, according to Mr. Teller. The Speckgrabber is delivered in a clean condition and packed. This was apparently the case in the factory sealed fresh pen.
So clean work surface, magnifying glass and light prepared, disposable gloves on, unpacked Speckgrabber and touched the two grains of dust with the tip. The specks of dust were gone, but two clearly visible stamp spots or lines came in the form of the tip of the Speckgrabbers on the sensor. The immediate test with the shutter closed showed that these spots can also be seen in the pictures, much larger and more disturbing than the dust particles before. Oh great, what's the point?
The pin came after opening the package, of course with nothing in contact, except with the sensor surface to be cleaned. The tip of the Speckgrabbers is a piece of rubber. Apparently, the spots were by any softening agent emerges from the small rubber tip or caused by any oily residues production. Or this grease is necessary for the operation? Actually, I expected that the pin arrives clean and so delicate surfaces without residue (!) Can be freed of dirt particles.
Now it had to follow a much more elaborate (and expensive) wet cleaning, so that Speckgrabber Patch to get away again. This is managed luckily. The Speckgrabber in my opinion, totally unsuitable for sensor cleaning and walked immediately into the garbage.
In the future, comes only one (talk-free and equipped with a micro-filter) bellows used. The bellows, which comes 1-2 times a year for use, distributes 99.9% of dust particles and makes cleaning other kinds superfluous.
