This very large book is very interesting, he looks back on the history of the Mediterranean, its formation, its various environments. I was looking for a book rather in marine biology oriented, but this book does not completely my expectations. It is found that the main marine species, without going into details. If you are biological diver go your way. This is in my opinion not a dive buddy in the sense that very few species are described, and the photo of the species is not always presented. Also I do not understand the interest of putting black and white diagrams to describe the algae and plants. It's ugly and do not really eprmet effective field identification. This is an introduction to biology diving in short, not really a "guide". The part about wrecks and different dive sites allows possibly to plannify travel, but still occupies 1/4 of the book ....
In short: a complementary bio book, but it's not a bio book
