Processing:
The build quality is great, no creaks or cracks. The laptop can be opened with one hand and also the folding of the display has an extremely stable and strong. The brushed surface is indeed made of plastic instead of aluminum, for me personally it is pleasant because it's just not as cold on the hands :) Also, Lenovo has down, and placed beside the keyboard small rubber articles that in the rotated mode the surface from scratches . protect All acts generally very well thought out.
Display:
I find the display not too dark, is often described here. Clearly it is not dull and therefore it reflects in direct sunlight, but for normal use in daylight ranging from 60% brightness. The touch function works extremely precise and with no noticeable delay. Furthermore, 10 finger multitouch support and there in the taskbar an extra field for the touch keyboard, super! Even paint / write in OneNote is not a problem. Also in the corners of each input is detected precisely. If one sets up the computer in Tent mode rotates the screen as much as 180 °. The color rendering is very natural, not like Samsung often too colorful for my taste. The illumination is very good into the corners.
Input Devices:
The Accu Type keyboard is great, the small stroke while about getting used to, but even during longer write very pleasant. The touchpad is very generous and works precisely. Must be one or the other certainly get used, I think it's very well done to the integrated buttons. Also finger gestures up to 4 fingers are detected. If necessary you can also switch off the all or reconfigure. If one draws from the corners into the pad also appears Win8 bar, a nice touch. The keyboard backlight works with 2 levels of brightness and is a nice addition. There is also a gesture control of Lenovo on the Webcam, who needs it :)
Power:
So far, the i5 does his job without a murmur; ie Office applications as well as Photoshop, transmission via HDMI to a TV and Full HD videos. The graphics card provides enough power to even new games to play at least on medium settings. Skyrim eg running on Ultra quality liquid (is not the newest but still ^^). The GT840M is indeed a middle class card from Nvidia, yoy. the 700 series but it is much more economical and even set a new record in terms Frmes per watt (see Notebookcheck.com review the new Asus ultrabook) Otherwise 8GB probably be more than adequate.
When referring to drive is this SSD: [...]
and here: [...]
you can watch a couple of benchmarks .... so I do not even decay here in novel writing. The PC is powered up in any case in 2sec and programs it installs faster than you can see with the SSD, Bios time 1.6 sec.
Battery:
Well, and since he's the only slight criticism, if you can call it that. 799 (or 769 students) in my opinion are more than fair for what you get here. The battery distinguishes the book but then the Ultrabook. He now has just 80% and holds at 70% brightness still 5h 56min, as specified. This is very good, but of course not just running demanding applications. Playing at full brightness on the power supply must be done, otherwise you have only about 1h 50min long fun;) About watch movies on battery power, I can make no statement.
Connections are my opinion, sufficient, even if only one USB 3.0 port this is. I have only one hard drive with USB 3.0 therefore fits that :) Furthermore, there are HDMI and Ethernet !!!!
Conclusion:
Those looking for a smaller, flat, powerful notebook for occasional games who finds no better at the price. Processing, power and above all the details and amenities are absolutely convincing. The one who wrote here that the processor is good for nothing, who eventually had a Monday model or well not much idea sorry. The different modes are great especially when combined with touch and Windows 8. Lenovo has really outdone themselves, because the combination of the equipment currently offers no manufacturer at the same level. Who can do without the graphics unit, even saving a few euro again. A version with i7 but would also be nice.
