Actually I bought the cheap "Child of Light" for my daughter, but I do not like playing it compared to the superior Ni no Kuni (or Essential Version). I can understand that, because "Child of Light" is initially very bleak, the control is initially hakelig (jumps are difficult to predict), and it is initially hardly explains anything. The constant duress, to create a Uplay account the manufacturer, I find inappropriate for kids (or Playstation subaccounts for children).
Although it looks like a children's game, the game in my opinion is therefore less suitable for children. For adults, I find the game for the comparatively low price, however fine. It has an artistic picture book graphics and a decent game scope. However, the bumpy German translation of the dialogues is torture and personally ruined me some pleasure. Overall not a bad buy, but I would recommend it only conditionally.
