The sharpness and image quality is unique. I own some prime lenses that do not come close to this quality.

Also, the image stabilizer is again improved. Freehand Mitziehaufnahmen with a 2x converter to 400m distance are thus possible! Even longer free hand exposures above the rule of thumb exposure time = 1 / focal length are possible far. The only drawback, the stabilizer is clearly audible.

However, should not be underestimated is the weight. The lens has a metal case and by the large initial aperture and a relatively large lens diameter of 77mm. Although the bayonet lock keeps the lens securely, even if only the body is maintained. But in the long term, the objective should always be kept!

What else is there to say? It has all L lenses gummed like a rubber ring on the bayonet (for sealing) and also focus and zoom rings are. The Focus is very fast, quiet and can also be in autofocus change at any time. When mounted upside Gegenlichtblende the focus ring but only elusive.
When correctly mounted lens hood but you can not get on the lens cap. Even the twist of polarization filters with mounted visor is only hineingreifen possible.
