Wow effect when you insert the batteries 18650 ... the lamp is feathered on positive pole ... which means that you (ie flat positive terminal) uses here best flat top batteries. Buttom-Top also go, but are a bit long.
Then the shock when you try to turn the lamp ... we went for it ... nothing at all.
Multiple on-one ... the LED remained dark.
Battery out ... again purely ... switched again ... again nothing. Modes switched through ... well nothing. Thread checked ... everything fixed.
Miraculously, no idea why ... ... went the lamp then after such a lapse of "wait time" vo about 1min suddenly.
Does this lamp as the first "energize" a minute so that the electronics work?
Reminds me of machines where the oil in the debut first everywhere must flow out.
Anyway ... in the manual was it anyway to read nothing ...
One reads so this lamp two weaknesses ... which I unfortunately have to confirm so.
- Although the brightness difference between the HIGH (4) and TURBO (5) level is visible ... especially if the correct battery is inserted which also can supply 3A, but the difference is not really practical use.
- Good but you can tell the TURBO very quickly heats up as the lamp head. I've done because the head has really become quite warm during this time to approximately 10 seconds from.
Although this heat is logical and normal ... in the wrong hands can still end up ugly.
This warming is like saying perfectly normal for LED luminous efficiency of such ... and testifies that the lamp has a very good Wärmeleitkonzept.
Nevertheless, one must know that ... otherwise you burn after a few minutes on Turbo suddenly the light head fingers.
I have the lamp then one step down on HIGH switched ... and leave about 5 minutes walk in Tailstand.
Even at this stage the head is nice and warm ... though still tolerable.
I was also amazed by the color temperature.
I had the version NW (Neutral White) ordered because my CW (cool white) LED Bin look very unnatural experience ... especially outdoors in nature.
However, my alleged NW is quite strong towards WW (warm white) ... so a bit to yellow.
Which is bad for my application not ... but somehow this is not correct northwest, as one would expect from a ThruNite Archer eg.
New for me is the method by which a second Clicky to switch modes on the side. But thus truly foolproof ... accidental mistakes modes at power now finally a thing of the past.
And speaking of "modes" ...
The Strobe is hereby times something hidden from good, but at the same time very accessible ...
Who holds approx pressed for 2 seconds to switch modes automatically receives the strobe. Otherwise the annoying Geblinke remains simply hidden ... very good !!
Oh ... and the lamp has - contrary to the Archer series - NOT stainless steel crown (Bezel).
Too bad ... the which is not only practical but also makes a really good look.
But that's really whining at a high level ... and on the figure of the lamp which is also clearly visible so yes.
These two already known shortcomings of this lamp - not really usable brightness increase in turbo and heat generation due to the high current flow ... and also something which surprisingly very warm light color - pull this lamp from 1 star. (Although it is written logically ... still ugly)
The ingenious procedure for choosing modes but it brings back to full marks.
Oh yeah ... the clip is made of stainless steel and is keeping very good indeed ... I've had good with a pair of pliers to pull the get down. (I do not like clips on the lights ... what is there, the belt holster)
Otherwise, I have to say ... the lamp is a real ThruNite ... and thus nevertheless I fully buy recommendation.
A Fenix FD35 or NiteCore P12 cost twice ... and are no better.
Here again a thumbs up for the very fair direct sales concept of ThruNite.
