This external enclosure for SSD and HDD 2.5 "SATA I / II / III is a sturdy plastic design. However, be careful shock and accidental falls. Very compact (147x85x17mm), it weighs only 75 grams. It has a class and worked design, curved curves make this case more attractive than a lot of external boxes of competition.
It supports USB 3.0 (and earlier versions) and runs on Windows XP / Vista / 7/8, Mac OS 9.0 and higher. It comes with a USB 3.0 cable and a brief paper manual in English.
It disassembles easily by clipping without forcing the hard drive 2.5 '' on the internal SATA connector; no screws required for installation of the drive. The latter must not exceed 9.5 mm in height. An indicator light illuminated by a powerful blue LED indicates activity during operation of the drive: lit when the drive is plugged in but the rest when fast flashing, slow flashing disk transfers during the automatic standby of the disc. This can produce an inadvertent disconnection of the disk during its awakening if the case is connected to a powered USB port or shared under (case of USB 2.0 ports on the front of my old tower). Prefer USB ports on the back of your CPU.
I tested by placing a hard drive Toshiba 100GB SATA II 2 computers manage than USB 2.0. Transfers reach the correct flow rates close to the possible maximum: 28 to 30MB / sec read and 22 to 27Mb / s write. The flow rates are stable even during long file copies totaling several GB.
The case has a switch on the back to turn off the power. This handy switch is often missing on external boxes.
An excellent lightweight USB 3.0 external enclosure without screws. The switch is a real plus and is rather rare. Avoid changing too frequently hard drive, the SATA connectors by being rather fragile in nature.
