The lamp is lightweight and durable. The batteries last an eternity. I have the battery life never tested because I eg reload after a hiking week for safety's sake the batteries. I use the lamp for walking at night in the forest. It illuminates a rectangular area to about 5 meters in front of the feet very well. A remote radiator it is not. Rather, the lamp obsolete in the face of light intensity, size and weight out the largest possible field of vision.
I have one more LED Lenser H14R. This is a different league, but also in terms of weight and size. At full steam only about one-tenth lasts as long as the Petzl. I use both lamps, as necessary.
