The shoe is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. The ride is top. The sole well damped. I had from the outset no problems with fit, bubbles etc. He wears wonderfully. I use it mainly for long walks and hikes in light to medium rough terrain. Even while biking he does me well. But can the Merrell as well serve as a trail runner. On rougher roads and impassable paths I prefer personally before a boot. It gives the foot just more support. As a tip should be said that the intercept one or two numbers fails smaller (German size).
Supplement 10/2010: I have sent my Intercept due to extremely high wear of the outsole. My Intercept behaved like a rain tires on dry surfaces: The profile wears out too fast. This is ultra-soft and ran off very quickly, although I was hardly on hard floors go. A contact with the importer did not bring anything, this referred me to the selling dealer. I think that's not right. Here the trader is advanced, although he has not caused the problem.
After some back and forth I got the seller a voucher for 50% of the footwear value. Unfortunately, there is for this shoe, or brand is not the Lowa, Meindl provide the service etc.. Here you can also be repaired shoes. Usually these brands relatively accommodating what pays in the long term on the purchase price. I'll probably return to trekkers and Co again. Or. Do not use at least in the outdoor area Merrell.
My conclusion: In my first review of Merrell Intercept me he was worth 5 stars. In my experience with the wear of the sole, I can not grant him this 5. For me, this is a serious deficiency. Therefore, 3 of 5 for the otherwise excellent shoe.
