Have 1 Fritz boxes (Fritz! Box WLAN 3270) as a 3G router in use with an O2 USB Modem, runs great.
Another 3270 as a WLAN access point behind a Vodafone EasyBox as the internal WLAN of Easybox had only problems with me.

This joined work right away, signed up in the portal and the unit switched to the bridge mode (so that the Fritzbox gets assigned a private IP from the modem but the public IP of the network to also be accessible from the outside).
