Since we also have the Huawei Ascend G615 at home, I know of very good quality / performance of Huawei smartphones.
So the new Y300 seemed very interesting, because I'm not sure "ascend" in a higher price class wanted.
Short and good; The decision has paid off, the Y300 is incredibly good!
I'm pretty sure that it will be hard to find something better in this price range (power and equipment).
Also design, workmanship and quality are top impression in this Huawei Y300.
My findings:
Primary and new equipment feature for this class is the 1 GHz dual-core processor of the Y300.
You can tell the difference very clearly (to the 800 MHz single core of L5), the operating speed of the Y300 is remarkable.
Normal operation is very fast, it there is no stuttering, and the fast image construction (eg Google Maps, satellite) is great.
In the benchmark test (Antutu v3.3) reaches the Y300 has a score of 6303 points (the LG L5 reached here 3776 points).
The capacitive touchscreen display has true 16: 9 format.
The 4-inch screen is also large genung.
Brightness and image quality are very good.
The operation (reaction of the display on touch / Wipe) perfectly.
Another highlight in this class is really good image quality of the built-in camera (front and rear camera).
The autofocus reacts reliably and in good light great pictures are possible.
The video function is also good.
The built-in speaker of the Y300 is above average in its sound quality; very loud and clear sound reproduction.
The included headset is not quite as satisfactory, one uses the Y300 as a music player is the sound hereby not really good.
Here you should better ear headphones retrofitted so that sounds Huawei significantly better (even in the bass range) and can be use as a music player.
Otherwise, it lacks the Y300 anything.
WLAN and network coverage are impeccable and the sound characteristics (speaking and listening) in its original function as a phone are good.
Conclusion:
Huawei shows once again that its devices a serious, if not better, competitors are.
I am very pleased with the Y300.
In this (price) class you will quickly find a better smartphone.
