But not the devices offered now at Amazon, which are now all "version 2" of the device.
And that is technically even significantly better than the first version (V1, but this is an unofficial designation).
But the hook at the thing is, unfortunately: V2 is DD-WRT compatible, and can not be used with open-WRT or Tomata.
The manufacturer (Cisco / Linksys) has built another more powerful processor and no longer exists quite aware of the support for this Linux free.
Unfortunately, both versions have the same name and thus man will be disappointed if we speculated that the cheaper version "EW" is still a V1.
"EW" is Europe-wide packaging, "DE" is German.
Who still like to look for a lively part of DD-WRT, should even keep an eye on the E3200.
Very inexpensive, only downer: no support for the upper 5GHz band in the open firmware currently because the driver for the chip is missing.
I have a E4200 V1 shot, since the seller kindly wrote "With firmware 1:04" on eBay.
Firmware 1.xxxx is only for V1, V2 has "Firmware 2.xxx".
And flash does not hurt, just download the appropriate firmware and hey presto she's on it.
Incorrect version however can be a good piece ever scrap.
I hope this helps one or the other.
