I read 6 books by this author, and they all have the same structure: Some very well thought science fiction, and put into a social context. There is always the character "principal" who is the storyteller, and in most cases the real main character who has come to save the situation and is gay (either human or, in the case of Chronoliths, female) . Around these characters are built of family situations giving rise to a form of empathy on the part of the reader. Genre: People with autism, the father who does not love his children, or who uses it, the alcoholic mother and lesbian (Spin), the crazy mother (Chronoliths), divorce, blended families, etc. The icing on the cake, we can also have references to current topics polemics: religion / atheism (Julian Comstock), evacuation of Arab Jerusalem (Chronoliths) ... Finally, everything that can shock and draw attention. Even if I find the sci-fi ideas of the author very well, I can not stand to let me handle in a way so obvious with subjects 'shocks'. Too bad the author uses his talent so.
