Loss of function under Android 4.4

The device itself thrilled me greatly, especially the display makes a lot of joy. Videos are a splendor and also for reading e-books, the Ultra is optimal due to the size and lightness. The only thing that bothered me at first was that the Ultra can not deal with DRM-protected WMA files (which, however, can not only very few android and iOS). For me as a real shortcoming Onleihe-Licensees. But since the phablet otherwise completely convinced, I decided to live with it.

And then came Android 4.4.

Under 4.4, the use of SD card is only very, very limited. I can save details on can be googled everything. For me specifically, this means that I can no longer use it as Navi the phablet (because the cards are too large to accommodate them in the internal memory to an SD card, it will not work) that I only with the help of another device the SD card can not record with music that my podcast app, my app for radio recordings and many more do not work anymore.

I am aware that this limitation comes from Google (in order to promote their own cloud services?) And not Sony. But then you may just not update (which can not be undone!) Offer, makes the parts of the device unusable!

The Z Ultra is a great phablet, but I strongly advise of an update to 4.4 from (for all Android devices with SD slot, Sony not only).

Who gets by with 16GB of internal memory, will nevertheless have been thrilled at the device. In my opinion, no Samsung can match.

But I will look around before alternatives to Android, Google should not reconsider its restrictive policy.
