Lost images of studying abroad

Unfortunately, the memory card was short-lived. (No whole year) During the images Downloads the memory card failed their service. The images were lost. Only after formatting the card was again really approachable, but only until the next day.
Possible that this was just an outlier in quality thing, I'm going to at least not buy this type again
