When I heard it for the second time, I fell in love. Through albums like Portrait, Antichrist and Holy Wood has naturally high demands on Manson, and when I heard that finally will come something new from him to the market, I was happy as a snow queen.
I think the album is fundamentally different from its predecessors, which makes a comparison to me incredibly difficult. I usually never see Manson's albums, as each forms a very enclosed complex in itself, each tells its own story. Eat Me, Drink Me attaches great importance to a dark, romantic atmosphere that makes the occasional shivers down my spine in combination with Manson's distinctive voice. I can very well imagine that one either loves or likes the album find bad, which is why an evaluation also difficult turns.
It certainly has its own character, where are the ghosts. But it's nothing new that Manson is either hated or loved. As an absolute Manson Maniac I'm pretty excited because the Golden Age of Grotesque was quite a disappointment.
