The Platinum TWS USB Drive (16 GB) gets from me a whole 3 stars out of 5 stars, there must be some deductions in terms of quality and performance.
Positive aspects: very convenient, practical folding hanger made of metal (This eliminates the annoying cap, which one anyway mostly lose), prompt and quick detection of the sticks under Windows 7 and 8, immediate and rapid (automatic) driver installation, the Manufacturer's packaging is great ( what with USB flash drives is not always the case, unfortunately, so that some arrive already damaged or are in the store).
Neutral aspects: The stick itself is made of plastic and a little shaky. Since this is not uncommon, however, and also does not make really negative effect, it remains at a neutral mention (at least also the favorable price has to be considered so). Furthermore: The Stick brings virtually only 14.4 GB "on the scale". Again, there are no deductions, because I never had a stick, which actually turned the specified storage capacity. Thus seems also to be common, albeit annoying.
Negative aspects: Two points are to be assessed definitely negative in my opinion. As would be mentioned (both under 2.0 and 3.0), the extremely modest speed. If you already write on the packaging "ultra high performance", one should also can expect such. Instead, these are clearly a "slow train". With USB 3.0 that does not really have much to do. On a 2.0 port, the speed is just acceptable under 3.0 is the "slow train" but then almost total failure (even in a modern, fast system!). Even considering the price has actually come here a lot more. Ie: 1 star goodbye.
And the second star (secondly) faded away because of the lame stick not only right on the road, but still this can be damn hot (temperature-technical). Yes, other sticks do not always stay completely cold, but this is already badly to the point. On my first attempt to save just under 1 GB, I have used almost burned "paws" (but really only almost!) Now it has the unfortunate temperatures (also fast). And since I also have a comparison object of the same type are in front of me, I can write that this is not a manufacturing defect, but intentional or Taken into account heat accumulation. But I really wanted to get no toaster, but a USB stick! Consolation: There is (still) no fire erupted.
Conclusion: For the low price you get a decent USB stick, which, however, has precious little to do with USB 3.0 and also in little things USB 2.0 is not exactly fix the road. It does the job - no more. I can not yet give any information about the shelf life at this time, since shortly in use. The comparison Stick has ever 6 months if kept in spite of the "temperature orgies". Whether this USB flash drive is, however, be a real long-term companion, remains to be seen. After all: If the heater fails in bitterly cold winter night, the stick offers plenty of heat for a cozy night
