Based on this experience I had some smaller Lowepro 50 AW ordered (without II) for my APS-C Canon EOS 600D. This Toploader takes the 600D with EF-S zoom lens up to 250 mm good. It currently costs about 20, - incl. Shipping (as of 02/2015), which is the forth value for money really is not bad.
The protective function of the pocket had been proven in practice. The bag incl. Camera fell off me from the table Knew on the ground and had taken no harm. This indicates a good protection.
The newly developed carabiner strap on secure and stable work, but have a disadvantage: they are no longer rotate like the old (see review from June 12, 2012 by JB.). The length of the shoulder belt blaspheme against it easy to adjust. In the middle of the belt is a rubberized non-slip surface, which makes carrying more secure.
A padded grab handle is also available. It is sufficient in scope and effect stable.
Inside and outside there are zipped secure pockets for small parts (such. As filters, covers, memory cards, brochures, spare battery, cleaning cloths, dust brush & c).
Those who still want to take a second objective, the Lowepro has a solution ready. The bag 50 AW can be simply a Lowepro lens case extend (so-called SlipLock -. System). Can even be docked two lens case to the larger (and more expensive) model 50 AW II.
Conclusion to Lowepro Toploader Zoom 50 AW:
*********************************
The bag offers reliable protection during transport, quick access to the camera and small accessories. The quality and functionality are excellent. A convincing price-performance ratio.
For APS-C camera with APS-C zoom lens up to 250 mm it is sufficiently large. For a full frame camera with Standard Zoom too tight.
Those who can not make friends with a photo backpack or -Trolley, makes a matching Toploader nothing wrong.
