For years I played from my CD collection on DVD and Bluray Plaier. With the opinion that these devices are so backward compatible. Unfortunately, the CD's sounded never as good as those on the DVD releases. Located on the CD's I thought. But I was unhappy already, especially since I had put on CD's only a very small part also on DVD. Since my Blurayplayer for quite some time has trouble playing the CD's, I have decided rather skeptical for a CD player. After all, an "old system" do better than the "high-tech" Bluraysystem ??? And I'm very pleasantly surprised. My CD's sound with the player Denon DCD 720 AE very, very good. The tones are clear spatial structure as I could not hear so far and the bass vigorously. My system consists of Sony STR-DN840 7.2, boxes of devil (Theater 4, with 2 subwoofers), the Blurayplayer of Samsung and now also lined up another component of a Denon. By choosing the Denon DCD 720 AE I am very satisfied. The very small font on the screen is a bit disturbing, but no reason for me to devalue the system therefore.
