It works perfectly under Linux kernel with the appropriate configuration (see any search engine). With jstest tool (package games-util / joystick Gentoo GNU / Linux), all the buttons work perfectly, including triggers (pressure sensing buttons such as L2 / R2 on the PS3 Sixaxis controller, which can be very useful as games), and even the Logitech button in the middle. I currently use the XInput mode. Apparently, Linux, the controller cuts through the Direct Input mode, and disconnect / reconnect the lever in XInput mode for it to be detected again.
As reported by some of the web, there has a significant dead zone on the joysticks (and jstest, I also see that suddenly release the joysticks may not reset the value to 0 ... it takes a bit to the rebouger come back ...), but for now it does not bother me particularly.
As said in other reviews, the buttons are a bit hard, but I guess that will soften a bit the use (hopefully, because a little embarrassing for now). I would also have enjoyed an LED to switch vibration, rather than the current system counterintuitive (apparently "short vibrations» = stopped, "long vibration" = activated ...), as there is to the passage between the directional pad and the left joystick. Finally I say that, but it is also true that I prefer to avoid the LED, when I play in the dark. But hey, y already has, so far have two, at least everything is clear ... :)
The overall design, the quality of plastic, and overall quality are excellent.
What bothers me most is that the gates of the area down low enough, relative to the bottom of the joystick. When I do not use much L2 / R2, I tend to put my key in the handle, and use my index finger to the rear buttons. But here, although there is a comfortable base usage position, I hit against the plastic of the gates of the area when I want to stretch my fingers, which is quite frustrating, and it's a little harder my major move towards the L2 button / R2, especially as in this other position, the grip is pretty average (joystick too tilted forward, which is not good for the wrist ... Carpal tunnel syndrome in sight ...). If the controller was not otherwise of excellent quality, I would have dropped my notes in 3/5 because of it, although I suppose I will eventually get used to it a bit.
Overall, however, I remain satisfied with my purchase, but depending on the game, I count still buy at least one other controller.
