In general, I'm a fan of this kind of shoes. Usually yes is walking barefoot is best for small children's feet, but in the day care center and during the cold season and at home you need alternatives. These leather shoes you're doing, I think, a good compromise. The sole is flexible enough that the feet are not constrained rigid. In these shoes my son gets no roux feet, the cool later because of the humidity but then, just as it is with him with thick socks case. So: Good solution!
