Just so I can personally describe the products of Makita actually. But I start at the beginning.
Even from my grandfather I had an old orbital sanders from Uniropa. Red, large, heavy and very noisy. The machine has now been sent to more than 30 years in retirement. A replacement had to be so. Requirements: Handy, lightweight, adjustable speed, simple paper change, efficient removal rate, with vacuum connection.
All these conditions are met the Makita BO3711 for me. Let's look into the box.
- Orbital Sanders
-. Dustbox including 1x filter
- Schleifpapierset consisting of one (1) sheet 120 grit (yes, set = 1 sheet)
- Instructions and safety
- Punch plate for roll paper (yes, it actually is doing)
I admit, a set consisting of a single sheet, is not much. Little to be exact. But good, not bad. Roll paper and leaves there are cheap here at Amazon.
The machine itself served its purpose and that very well: grinding.
So far I have honed two stools, several strips of a wardrobe, four window frames and a balcony (5.60 mx 2.0 m). And the before / after results are amazing. Because the machine was running with me in continuous operation for which it is not intended.
The removal rate is remarkably high, the sanding is clean. Scratches or cracks in the wood, I could not see how it can happen in grinders with solid aluminum plate otherwise. Of course the abrasive plays an important role. I use paper from Bosch and Wolfcraft in grits 40, 60, 80, 120, 180 and 240. Low = coarse, high = fine.
The paper goes spielendleicht change. Simply the grinder on the sheet of paper make, open clamping lever, high kink paper on both sides and close clamping lever. That's it. And thanks to aluminum, the clamping lever can be made to last.
Paper from the roll is also easy to handle. Buy role (93 mm x z. B. 5 m), cut to 23 cm (exactly there are 22.8 cm) strips long, adjust the grinder and punch with the enclosed perforated plate.
The dust extraction is also very good and functional. I, as an image in the gallery described under the purchased an adapter and narrows with cloth tape on connection to the slip rings. Thus, the adapter is properly seated, and I can connect a wet / dry vacuum. Alternatively, I can buy such a sucker from Makita, such as the VC 2010 L. Since all the same nozzle and adapter connections are.
My Conclusion:
The Makita BO3711 met all my expectations and demands. Grinding works perfectly, dust can be sucked, consumables are low, the handling is really easy. Its light weight, you can easily grind long and even overhead. Perfect.
A very clear Best Buy. And do not forget: After use, always clean so that it will continue to say: Makita - and running!
