Many features, but slowly and comic routes

I have the Navi previously about 1 1/2 months in regular service and I am after all the positive reviews and recommendations from friends and colleagues but quite disappointed with the TomTom Start XL.
Operation via the touch screen is working properly. It has many functions and can also operate relatively well and intuitively.
Logs you on the Navi on the PC and loads the appropriate software TomTom down so you can download a lot of settings and features (wallpapers, POIs, voices, car icons and maps) without problems and install, which I also liked.

However, I find the Navi very sluggish. Thus, with this device not "fast times" to enter a destination because it takes between 1-2 seconds after each print runs to the action on the screen. So the destination entry is partly for Puzzle. The vehicle position is updated only very slowly during the journey that I have been surprised that the voice prompts come in time even if the image has been adjusted only 2 seconds later.

Also I find the battery power fairly weak. Excluding the Navi are times a week or travels a longer distance (about 3 hours) without connecting it so comes very quickly the message that the battery is empty again.
The main reason why I am using the device but unhappy that some very strange routes are not standard as "fastest route" be calculated. I have the Navi it ​​specially merhmals near my hometown used to test the route calculation. In the city this has mostly worked very well. However, once a federal road or highway should be charged, often came about very complicated routes that often much quicker motorways and trunk roads were shunned. I do not know whether this is due to the IQ Routes or the calculation algorithm of TomTom. But if I do not bring a Navi to the desired of me (fastest) way to the goal, it has missed the job for me.

All in all I find Will anyone else for about the same price, much better performance, which is why I will buy myself another again. Perhaps the more expensive TomTom devices are also better. Me, however, have lost as customers first.
