After the somewhat underpowered album "Somewhere Else" and the undecided double CD "Happiness is the road", the boys have finally concentrated on songwriting instead deliver quick fixes. They no longer sound relaxed like a very long time. The songs are created epic part. Brings back memories: "Gaza" ("Invisible Man"), "Montreal" ("This strange engine") and "Sky above the rain" ("Neverland") include with their many spine-tingling moments and surprising twists to the most beautiful Marillion -Songs ever. Unlike all albums since "Brave" can be found on this plate no failures. I hear all the songs with pleasure and have the impression as if Marillion "come home" after a very long journey. That's the real surprise for me! The only downer: Steven Rotherys solo sounds no longer like them. His "old" sound (Squier + EMG + DS-1 + Delay + Roland JC 120) had the bombastic parts need to add extra shine and length.
