Mario & Luigi meets Inception ?!

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. (CD-ROM)

Customer Review

So the Nintendo 3DS now brings me to my first "Mario & Luigi" title. Although I wanted to start with the first part on the Game Boy Advance chronologically, but first I decided to gamble this title because it is linked not by the story of her predecessors. Its beginnings had the series with "Super Mario RPG" on the SNES, today we have a total of five titles this RPG Games. And "Dream Team Bros." is a big hit when it comes to RPG. Defendant, the fans at last "Paper Mario" offshoot on the 3DS, that there would be no RPG elements, so you got here again the typical and charming gameplay, what you have been used to from its predecessors. In addition, "Mario & Luigi 4" has a great story and a wonderful world to explore and explore.

Princess Peach, King Toadsworth, Mario, Luigi and the entourage of the Mushroom Kingdom are invited to a holiday on the holiday island of La Dormita. But when they get there, it is clear that anything but a peaceful vacation is waiting there for you. The sinister Antasma want using special dream stones seize power and these stones can be found just on this island. Mario & Luigi get it with an incredibly powerful opponents do ...

First of all: Who has gambled the older parts and knows, will quickly come to grips as much is known in terms of control, Items, fights etc. But the newcomers are introduced very carefully and well in the game, unfortunately, the tutorial mode is incredibly tough at the start, it shows, even if you have the game never gambled. After the hundredth time you get back the same explanation only in other words, on the one hand very well, because the game is also directed at younger players, on the other hand very frustrating because you often can imagine being a dork!
But if it is then off you go, things really get going, and you have almost countless possibilities: The island La Dormita is huge and consists of five major areas, which are there to explore and discover. Here everything is wonderfully designed and simply processed with meticulous attention to detail, whether characters or the places themselves. La Dormita is a world in which one feels and one would like to see themselves. Although some characters are very annoying over time, witty and charming, they still remain, and there is just a lot of different figures and the know on both sides of the fronts, while erlebt.Man this adventure but also learn a lot of familiar faces , especially related the recent Games series.
There are then a second world, namely the dream world. The dreams are a big part of this game and make it so special!

The scope is accordingly very high, there are scattered beans that you have to gather the inhabitants of the island, known as Cushion must be saved and there are so many treasures and places to discover!

The gameplay works perfectly, Mario and Luigi learn while playing tons of abilities and attacks, most notably, of course, Luigi, which is celebrating its anniversary this year. He is also the central point of the game, particularly his dreams are important because here all the rules of physics are broken. As you walk on walls high, can be worn by wind of it or swims through the weightlessness. The so-called "Luigi ions" are staged really great, especially the Giganto fights are very innovative and exciting staged.
While you're fighting in the waking world through a three-dimensional environment, you have to jump in the dream world by a two-dimensional Parkour, defeat enemies and solve puzzles.
You could tell that the game offers tons of possibilities and options, just through this gigantic extent the game is so challenging and stimulates for further gaming!

Speaking of demanding: "Dream Team Bros." will really rock hard after a very slight start. But only until the end, then, I think, you will be perhaps a little too strong. I for one have the final boss fights (excluded the Giganto bouts) made in less than two (!) Minutes! Why? Well, actually, just because of the time-order, this order is so simple, but so strong that the last great bosses simply freezes and can plan banging going on. With two Orders of this sort can defeat any opponent with almost no damage, provided you always get nice experience. That is my criticism of the game, probably it is not so different, but also because of the fact that others determined not have used the term religious. Seriously, this option must be good and should have been removed from the game.
Since it does not help that you can select the "Hard Mode" after passing games, similar problem, as in "The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time" with the Master Quest.

Technically the game is almost perfect: The graphics are beautiful, even if it looked at the beginning still somewhat weak compared to other 3DS games. The sprites are great designed and the characters move so fluid that you do not realize that there are no three-dimensional figures, except in the Giganto battles. But here they wanted to probably retain the charm of the older games in, similar to the last "Paper Mario".

The music: Oh my god, amazing, wonderful and one of the best game soundtracks on the 3DS! The music is perfect and beautifully blends into any situation. Especially the Somnam theme is one of the finest pieces of what the video game music has brought forth in recent years! In "YouTube" listen and see for themselves.

Conclusion: In spite of some tough tutorials and the exaggerated time-Orders, is "Mario & Luigi dream team Bros." one of the most beautiful and best games on the Nintendo 3DS. A great RPG that demands, animated to play on, offers a grandiose world to explore and has a stunning soundtrack. Fans of the series should not hesitate and all others who had nothing to do with its predecessors, can indulge in this exciting adventure.
