I bought this video light to the future to have an additional light for camcorders video recordings, if this will make the local light sources required. Positive I rate in this video light, that people not blinded and the faces are still at least well lit at close range. You can change the color temperature of the light over the top knob - from warm yellowish to cold bright light. Thus, one can find a setting in which the complexion of course comes across. With the lower knob allows the light intensity of darker ranging set too light. And now I come to what I rate as negative and therefore awarded only 2 stars: Because I do not have a Sony battery, the included battery box with 6 AA batteries was equipped high performance from me. The batteries are still little used and have been recently fully charged. I did not succeed yet to turn up the two knob fully to get a maximum of bright light; because even precedes the light in literally from abruptly. what now? You have to turn off once the lamp on / off switch (toggle switch). The next time you turn on the light will flash briefly as a photo flash on - that's it. Remedy: Switch on the inputs already mentioned on / off switch again and turn the two knobs only times all the way to the left. Using toggle switch again. Now carefully and wisely the two rotary switches turn up brighter in direction. The best way is first the color temperature - this one must of course always turn up carefully with the second rotary control the light intensity. If you want this too much, in other words, the regulator turns up a little too far ... wham, the light is already off. Then the whole little game starts all over again. This problem I had then discussed with the support of the Amazon merchant "BEST of TECHNIC Photo Studio Accessories". I was immediately sent to a second video light LuxPad 22. In this, the described and criticized behavior was exactly the same - ie m. E. by the manufacturer so willed. About a Test button the battery charge status via 4 LEDs. This works quite well. When both knobs are turned so dark toward the far left, then light up all 4 LEDs. If one starts, the knobs alternately to turn right - sometimes the one and then the other, then you can watch as one LED after another goes out. If all 4 LEDs are off and it has acted sensitively, it may be that the light is still on. If you now, if only out of curiosity, to continue rotating slightly - zack the lights out again. The knob is then but still not at the stop. This behavior I find very, very stupid. I do not know why you have done so - possibly in order to preserve the battery. I would find it a lot better if you could, if required full beam available. OK, then the battery is holding empty faster. One of the two video lights I still keep because you can learn to deal with this shortcoming. I still want a Sony battery to buy myself and hope that then the problem no longer occurs so blatant. After testing with this battery, I will revise this review. Addendum: Meanwhile, I've bought the "BAXXTAR PRO ENERGY Battery for Sony NP-F970 (real 7800mAh" Bundle Star. This battery is a real powerhouse. The above-described problem that I had with the 6 Battery batteries joined no longer in this battery on. Quite the contrary - the video light I had turned and fixed with the two knobs to full power (maximum power consumption) - that was the 6 Battery batteries impossible, because already the lights went out. With the "BAXXTAR PRO ENERGY Battery for Sony NP-F970 (real 7800mAh" went out the video light at full power only after 5 hours. But that the battery was far from empty. In some lower light (rotary bit turned off), the video light has always been still usable. Because the above-described problem was apparently due to the batteries used and I am with the video light is now fully satisfied, I raise to 5 star.
