Copy a 21 GB video file:
internal SATA to SATA internal WD60EFRX approximately 140 MB / s
internal SATA WD60EFRX to SMB server via Gigabit Ethernet 100 MB / s
internal SATA WD60EFRX on NFS server via Gigabit Ethernet 100 MB / s
When SMB and NFS copying the bottleneck is Gigabit Ethernet.
For small MP3 files (7GB) write performance breaks at about 45 MB / s, which is still a very good value for me.
The HD is very quiet and is under load a little more than lukewarm.
Anyone interested in this HD, must make sure that they are buying the following version of HD:
WD60EFRX-68MYMN1, firmware rev 82.00A82 = important !!!
