A Solitary Man (Audio CD)

Customer Review

~
The Solitary Man, as titled Jonathan Jeremiah himself, lives up to its name. Out of nowhere appears this man and sings like a big as the last 40 years would not have passed. In addition to his as Swiss chocolate melting baritone voice he strings in tow, the ear canals similarly good oils like Brillantine the hairstyles of his idols. Where tonal smoothness is not reached at the last completion to sneak the tenderest wind around the corner that has the entertainment art has long produced and give the harmonies the final glide factor directly into the melting pot of emotions.
It does not help, but think of the great radiant entertainer the 60 / 70s, images licked types in body-hugging Glitter suits come up again and are also liable on the good 37 minutes to travel beyond the kidnapped album.
Want to without the images destroy - but the cover image is pressing it to yes - we have of course not dealing here with the more mature Brillantine polyester man, but with a young guy who naturally the lone wolf mimes, yet on the way then, has stopped somewhere between Jesus and Cowboy in a begossenen large poodle with the matching faithful dog eyes. Great. So sweet for the ladies, but rough enough that real men are ashamed at the box office without a word or not to impose any waiting in line to purchase the plate for the girlfriend ...

For tonal comparisons, which are always disastrous, but intrude here, should be resorted to only in the record box of parents who heard the little Jeremiah already than six years, up and down, when he started playing the guitar. In it slices of Tom Jones, Burt Bacharach, the Walkers, Bill Withers, Cat Stevens, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and many others must have been. It should be emphasized, however, that Jeremiah not said also copied only rudimentary. His voice has a bit unique. The volume and also the stability of Tom they reached no means, but a little timbre and when comparing with Marvin is his voice considerably already full terms of location, here the comparison also is towards the musical accompaniment work.

Of course, comes with a thing that is as round as this production, and therefore is less the Speichermidium meant as its contents, the fast impression on, here was an old hand at work. Since this is now not the case and since it also the album pretty much single-handedly picked up (except for the shares of London's "The Heritage Orchestra"), it quickly becomes clear what needs to be for a lover Mr. Jeremiah. As he told impressively in interviews, he had to every little thing, such as the right microphone for each instrument, develop gradually over nearly a decade.
That's ultimately what makes the album. Here is true pretty much any sound while choking not deadly serious ambition and artistic claim the joy of entertainment. Accordingly, on average, the sound quality of the production as a whole is successful.

The only complaint might be that with all the work that goes into instrumentation, recording and mixing, maybe the vocals even here and there a little exercise could have tolerated. After the first hearing, therefore, the question remains for a moment in space, how much irony the artist because there perhaps under the apparently perfect surface clean hides. Short memories of a Adam Green will be monitored. - But the man is young and safety in his voice, in the course of a promising career, which has just begun, mature. Perhaps he will even brave enough to break the instruments sound here and there, because so beautiful is the album, yet many of these fat tubes can withstand not a well-stocked shelf stand in the long run.
One in many ways promising debut.
