Microsoft LifeCam Cinema vs. Logitech Webcam Pro 9000

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema (Skype certified) [old packaging] (optional)

Customer Review

I have tested and compared both cams detail.
Wanted I have a cam, because I want to create video blogs for my webshop, namely artificial light after office hours, ie in the autumn / winter no more daylight.
Requirement was therefore to provide a very good picture and very good sound for video recording under these conditions.

One thing first: The fact that I have only awarded 3 points, of course, be seen in comparison with the Logitech cam, which has got only 4 of me because of defects that would not have been necessary eigentich (it's so hard to get a good micro to construct?). Compared with low-Cams Microsoft Cam deserves course 4-5 points!

Packing
The Logitech packaging easily winded, but tolerable.
Microsoft packaged product very 'artfully', ie it is difficult to achieve, the Cam unpack without damaging the package, if you do not have patience.
This one needs then at the latest, if you want to pack the Cam again, eg due to return later or in case of warranty. In short, an impertinence!

First Impression
Both cams do not come cheap, therefore, the processing quality is good at both.
Here, however, the Logitech makes a much heavier and wertigeren impression.
This can be seen later as an advantage if you have rather shaky set-up options, such as free on the table.

Software
The Logitech software is uniquely versatile. The setting options are greater and the fun freebies such as hats, masks, etc. Avatars work much better.
The setting example for resolutions are much more diverse.

Video
The Logitech Video is colorfast, Microsoft gives me a distinct reddish in artificial light.
At the highest setting HD Logitech is liquid, motion sensors hardly delays.
Microsoft has significant delays, particularly bad: The do not only occur during fast movements, the Logitech has also, but even at easier and head movements while talking (rapid mouth movements).
So before the main argument for me, for my product presentations to exen the MS-Cam and keep the Logitech.
But really nice sharp, so really HD, I do not find both!

Clay
The Microsoft-cam produces a much clearer and more beautiful tone. But even an annoying beeping, if that were not, they would be for language really well. But it is unfortunately still (as of 10.2010), according to forum entries of 2009, was already so and should be changed, but this is apparently not yet happened.
The Logitech cam sounds quieter and (very) slightly tinny. That's still bearable, I have to talk just a little louder, the optimum is not.
In the long term, the problem will be solved with a high quality external microphone.
If Logitech does that, not at Microsoft!
I've already tried it with a cheap micro: The video recordings running properly, no time delay of the audio because one operates microphone and cam separately.

An operating light have both cams to avoid eg accidental RUN.

This post has now become very pro Logitech.
Actually my situation was different, I had bought the Logitech first and was not satisfied. The picture was me too few HD default, I had imagined it sharper.
But the result is now that it is much lesser evil.
Really good HD cams with sharp images and excellent sound, there may be in a higher price range. If you do not want to get rid financially more than 100, these two seem to be yes leader (Who knows better Cam, I can gladly anmailen).

Long story short: Both are good, not great, but the Logitech has clearly ahead!

PS:
I've also briefly stopped by on a webcam chat site and inquired where that video in which cam from me would be better (ie, during the chat often the cams changed). The answer was clear Logitech.
