Miles in his last leading role

For "Amandla" Miles Davis took over the role of bandleader, he had largely ceded to the previous CDs ("Tutu" and "Siesta") to the Fender bass player Marcus Miller in 1989 for the last time.
On "Amandla" the elite of Miles' former live band can be heard, that is next to Marcus Miller (as multi-instrumentalist), for example, Kenny Garrett (alto saxophone), Paulinho da Costa (Percussioni), Foley (guitar) and Omar Hakim (drums ).
"Amandla" is oriented while the sound of the previous album "Tutu" - but with a greater sense of human interlude. Conclusion: Overall, this is in "Amandla" to a timeless good jazz album, which despite a tendency to Easy Listening also has something for the discerning ear of jazz fans to offer.
