Misconstruction and retrogression

After I had the Kärcher SC used for 5 years in 1122 steam cleaner, I wanted a more powerful cleaner.
The SC 1122 is small, convenient and practical, offering "only" 3 bar pressure. So I was hoping with the big SC 5800 C with 4 bar pressure for better and faster cleaning. But compared to the SC in 1122, I can not detect any significant difference in cleaning results.

1. unit has a steam boiler plus a water tank. Good is that water can easily top up what the SC in 1122, however, was not a problem. With 1.5 liters of water so I could clean about 100 square meters.
Bad at 2 tank system is that the device switches off as soon as no more water is in the water tank, although the boiler is still approximately 1/2 liter of water, with which one could still 20sqm loose cleanse a room of maybe so but can not be use. Ie 1/2 liters of water is unnecessarily heated too much in every cleaning process and of 1,5L + 0,5l boiler can be used in total only 1.5l.

Second device cleans residual pressure in the tank despite not when no current is connected. Would actually quite handy when still example to clean another floor is a smaller area (for example, guest toilet), that the residual pressure still wipes without plug insert. Has the SC 1122 works, the SC 5800 C no longer.

3. Device has no overpressure safety lock. The SC 1122 is a pressure lock, which can only be opened when the pressure is reduced in the boiler and so no danger is caused by scalding. When SC 5800, the closure can easily be opened. Quite quite dangerous!

4. To prevent calcification, it is certainly not wrong to empty residual water after the cleaning process or consume the water totally. This is the SC 5800 C in many ways very, very bad. First, some water remains in the tank, which can not be use up before shutdown (described above), secondly, in the boiler high pressure, which can not be degraded by use and because the unit shuts down previously (described above). That is, either wait a long time to water and steam are cooled or unscrew something but at the risk of the lid and let the steam escape carefully. But then the absolute bad design. The residual water can not make sense to pour, as the water flows over a very unfavorable positioned hinged cover which folds down instead of sideways or upward. If the water is still hot, you should watch very well before scalding!

5. Annoying is also that which was smaller by 2 supplied terry cloth already frayed after 10 minutes use. A nozzle seems to have a very sharp corner at which the terry coating has worn through in a very short time.

6. Cable winding missing. When SC 1122 you could wrap the cable very practical and fast to the device. When SC 5800 C you have to wrap the cable quite narrow with 2 hands and terminals in a compartment behind the cleaner.

7. Hose winding missing. The SC 1122 is the tube was also so reasonably wrap around the device, and in this way to transport and store the entire unit well. When SC 5800 C there is no possibility of the wind-up. The hose can stake out, but that does not help when transporting or storing it.

8. The 2-part pluggable pipe is too short. Just when you want something stronger scrubbing and wants to touch this with 2 hands grip and pipe, the pipe is still clearly too short (am certainly also 1,89m tall).

9. The floor nozzle is very immobile. They must be performed within a very narrow angle range, otherwise a plastic holder on the back of the pipe scraped the floor or the pipe over the floor nozzle also does not move on. Here I would like to see a movable floor nozzle like a vacuum cleaner, so you easily with a forward arm motion the floor nozzle and is able to move without his feet also go back and forth to have. Added to this would still be the short pipe, which also prevents a use as the vacuum cleaner.

10. The front wheel is quite small and does not roll over the power cord, if it is in front of me, but pushes it ahead of him.

11 Good is the length of the hose between the boiler and pipe because the device must not be dragged along here with every movement of the floor nozzle. So you can make 2 to 3 little steps and for example a corner wipe without having to go along the same device.

I forgive only 2 stars because the SC 5800 C shows significant shortcomings in everyday use and less convenient to handle than the older device. In addition, it twice as expensive as the SC 1122 and I can not see really meaningful benefits; On the contrary, I can only conclude disadvantages compared to the SC in 1122.
In this respect I can the SC 5800 C steam cleaner is not recommended, but would recommend more half as expensive and considerably more practical devices such as the SC 1122 or similarly constructed successor.
As a longtime user of a steam cleaner, I'm very disappointed about the inconvenience of construction and, in my view setbacks over the older unit SC 1122. The value for money at SC in 1122 was very good, but quite bad at SC 5800. Therefore, only 2 stars.
