On the search for a successor I have scoured all Amazon reviews and despite 1st and 2nd place in terms of popularity among buyers there should be no time Samsung. Torn I then me - quite contrary to my nature - decided on a rating of still completely uncontaminated device because it is brand new on the market. So far, the risk has paid off. But you can in the face of a price of just under 80 euros, and the sound of the Panasonic brand (ok, Samsung also has) really speak of a risk?
I (still) do not have a 3D TV, I can do without the player on the 3D function. This player here is accordingly the stripped-down version of the otherwise identical DMP-BD160 and 161st
But now the pleasing main part - and the precipitates nutshell: The player makes real joy.
And I had my first somewhat frightened about the tiny size. The player has no more space than a DIN / A-4 sheet. Angestöpselt, set menu (very simple!), Ready for immediate use. Operating noise from 3 meters to zero. No Fiepsen, no chatter (except when reading a disc, but even that is relatively quiet in contrast to my previous Samsung). Very fast reading time.
Over the past three years, the players have become apparently no worse, fortunately not at entry level. At the image (and that should be the most important), there really is nothing to complain about. The remote is a tiny, but fits comfortably in your hand, is clearly designed and easy to operate. Only the pressure point is not crisp enough, and a little too soft.
A display there is not the way. All relevant information, such. As maturity, elapsed time, chapter number, etc. can be accessed via the remote control and are displayed discreetly in the TV picture.
The build quality is impeccable. I opted for the variant with silver device surface (just above). These aluminum application seems valent than the plastic-like black dust with his alluring piano finish.
If you are experiencing in the coming weeks degradation, I will report it, otherwise here's a preliminary conclusion, if a simple, easy to use / set up brand BR-player scans and 3D can do without more, which makes this Panasonic nothing wrong.
