It is possible to connect headphones, microphone or headset. The microphone is detected and mixed in the game sound, where the gaming sound is attenuated. Is a headphone / headset is connected, receives the terminal (TV) no sound, so you hear through headphones the game, but not this again as an echo from the room accommodates a microphone.
Finally, it is commendable to note that the device works absolutely self-sufficient during extended gaming sessions and live recording. No PC is needed next. Theoretically, you can also cut on the device and upload it directly to YouTube, but this is solved only very rudimentary. The post-processing on the PC is then but a lot more comfortable.
Now for the negative aspects:
- Network
The unit can not be linked via wireless LAN. It has only one Ethernet port. Whether you just can always lay a network cable to the device I consider abwägig and unwieldy.
If you have now "linked" the device, it can indeed be operated via app on your smartphone, but this must already be paired with the unit before it receives. Meanwhile, for that is not possible anymore, and otherwise only an unstable compound is possible during recording.
The device can be used either via the network as drive somehow (FTP, Windows file sharing, etc.), so that some can not even copy them to a computer specified by the device. No doomsday, but extremely bad, because here you wasted potential.

Drives

Who ALL advertised features of this device, especially complained of me wants to take and needs, will have no great joy. Because some "features" are ill-conceived, immature and simply not working.
Here AverMedia should have remained modest and only functions are to install, which are then used in practice. Without the useless hard drive bay, it would also certainly have been even a lot more manageable.
