My God, what a throwback

The last of the three radio plays were so consistently good to very good. The series was well on its way back to what it used to be and this is even more developed forward by making the three detectives something adult and mature. But now this.

The "Phantom of the Sea" begins very atmospheric. Costal California with fog, a lighthouse and the sea, all very consistent. Later we find out that the sound of the sea and the foghorns is the best it has to offer the radio play, because all speakers have consistently not their best day.

Everything is so confusing and opaque. The eponymous Phantom hardly occurs and at the end at least I know not, who did what to whom and why. Hopefully the (book) Author crew remembers back on the qualities that they have recently done so successfully.

Speaking of which, when in fact comes the next football result ?! :)
