In the meantime, I have about 100 photos (indoor / outdoor / flash / night scene) shot and formed my own opinion - I was confused by the many negative reports, mainly because of vielbemängelten image noise.
I can (and that's not just my opinion) confirm that this camera does not have to hide!
The picture quality is good to very good, the autofocus is much faster than with my FZ18. In the last third of the telephoto range you can not complain too. The pictures are a total of detailed, color can be changed according to taste by settings. The quality of the videos is almost brilliant for a "photo camera".
On the subject of noise I can say this: I made the lit downtown area several night shots without a tripod (P mode, ISO 100, 400, etc., and with the "Night Portrait / Lighting"). Noise I could not really find here, on the contrary, images are well lit and sharp. With more than 400 ISO the images have noise, but how often do I need more than ISO 400? Basically, I set of difficult lighting conditions ISO 100 and use a mini tripod, precisely because of the "More" to details. In addition, as with the larger models, everything can be adjusted manually. The flash also succeed good shots - if necessary, you can extend this to two stages in order to illuminate large areas.
The program variety of the FZ48 is lush and enticing to play and try out. Here I can only recommend the "Super Zoom Fotoschule FZ150-FZ48" by Frank Späth. The book is well organized and very understandable - well I could still learn a lot.
But now the question of whether the acquisition of the FZ48 for owners of older model worth FZ: I mean the switch is worth it if you're like me, umsteigt from FZ18 to the FZ48. The image quality is increased significantly compared to the FZ 18. Had I possessed an FZ38, I'd probably over the next generation, according to the FZ 48, wait and see. It is my hope that the CCD will be greater over the next 1 to 2 years.
Of course, me a few things are noticed that did not like me. Compared with the FZ18 or FZ7 I realized that the cover for the connections is now processed cheap (no spring-loaded flap more), the cover for the battery compartment can be good, but not as easy to open as in the older models. The viewfinder is much smaller and therefore is barely practicable. The lens cap to the push handles so smoothly was that I just can not handle outside the cover to remove it or to put back on the lens.
All this certainly has to do with the lower price in comparison to previous models. Panasonic I recommend, therefore, to be guided back to the quality of the older models in the above points, I would also like to pay a few euros more.
Conclusion:
I would buy the FZ48 as related back to the "League" in the plays this camera, they achieved good to excellent results. Even with 600 mm focal length, the results are still good. An SLR would of course shoot with the appropriate lens better images, but frankly I can not imagine having to haul several kilos on holiday me.
To those of you who are poor because of z. T. rating are torn, I recommend to it out at amazon.com or amazon.uk look. Here you can read additional opinions on the FZ48 and FZ47 identical. Various test pages with correspondingly stored test photos I can highly recommend.
The FZ48 is very suitable for beginners and advanced, leaving the field of DSLR cameras more than just an idea. But it is no DSLR and no system camera, yet achieved in its class good to very good results and has me in Amazon "only" 286, - Euro cost.
Bottom line, I can forgive, despite the described "weak points" less than 5 stars.
