I've been looking for a device with latest map material and discovered on the Navigon website the 40 Plus, with maps Stand quarter II 2010. I subsequently extensively based on the HP the map coverage of Navigon and Becker (was also up for debate), and found that Navigon in this regard has the edge. With regard to Western Europe itself did not much, only Eastern Europe is more relevant for Navigon (as of July 2010). This is important to me because I am every summer in the Balkan area and the road, I value the fact that the Navi displays not only the main roads (like the Tom Tom devices). The 40 Plus has all the streets found the way I test sought in Split (HR), Bucharest (RO) and Kavala (GR)! Have the FreshMaps offer availed and get now until July 2012. every 4 months the latest maps for only 19th
Possibly interesting for Mac users like myself who NAVIGON Fresh software is also available for Mac and works flawlessly!
The voice is loud and clear and the appliance rattles even at full volume, I use the first woman's voice which dominates also TTS, and there are still a man's voice in conjunction with TTS (quite bass heavy) and a second FS without TTS. TMC works great at charging cable is connected, the correct settings provided in the menu (tuning on automatically). Reality View and the Active Lane Assistant also prove to be very useful. In tunnels, the device is expecting and we missed there not exit, even if the tunnel has no GPS reception. Battery life (2.5 hours), Design (very thin) and GPS setup / reception (approximately 30 to 40 seconds with the device) I find great, route recalculation is done in about 2-3 seconds.
You can set how the one-click menu View (tap on the screen while driving), gas station, hotel, parking, etc., very useful on vacation. The display is easy to read and clearly when the sun shines, the font size is fine but in the face of TTS, which announces the street names outside Germany (!), You have to constantly pay attention to the font is not necessarily. The car cradle budge on my Renault disc and can be adjusted well, initially somewhat cumbersome.
Since I am not interested in a navi on gimmicks such as Media Player, picture playback, and Bluetooth and the unit fulfills its function perfectly, I forgive a perfect score.
