The Il Tauro comes from the region of Apulia in Italy. The connoisseurs of wine shelves in supermarkets has certainly already discovered him in some big chains. There he is usually performed in the standard range. Therefore, I know him quite well. Although I had to realize that he is usually slightly cheaper at Amazon. If you feel the wine on the teeth, it can be seen that it is packed into Veneto. As a Red Salice Salentino (the name of the wine and also the eponymous site), it only needs at least 80% of the grape variety Negroamaro. Hence the Il Tauro gets its aromas of black berries. The remaining shares may fill 2 different types of Malvasia Nera. It optimizes especially fragrance and color. Due to its sweetness, it contributes to the slightly chocolaty note. According to the guidelines a Riserva must be matured for at least 2 years without prescribing where it should be stored (wooden barrel, steel tank, bottle ...). We know of the Spanish Reservas and Gran Reservas different. This here wine has 12 months oak maturation behind him and the rest of the period before filling in stainless steel vats. Overall it is a dry, full of red wine and therefore good to beef, game or a hearty cheese plate. He is directly ready to drink, but can also very much a still store two years. Overdo it so I would not. Price / performance ratio in the wine and it is for the 5 euro a safe bet.
