Then I've bought the Rollei film scanner.
I have the software meticulously according to the instructions, installed. The scanner I had twice
infected until it has been correctly identified. Apart from this glitch I no longer had to fight.
After inserting the image you should wait a few seconds, because the exposure (and focus?)
is readjusted for each image. Only when the image is quietly pressed to "snap shot" on the
Software. This is without prejudice to the scanner, and the images from being blurred.
Results:
I was surprised that SW-negatives were immediately issued in positive thing one step saves.
Dias were, according to at least the original, very good. (What quality losses on outstanding Dias
occur, I can not judge.) When scanning I have the quality (brightness / color) does not change,
as the already used by me image editing better record (??).
Handling:
The media hangers are almost dignified. The opening and closing of the container requires more patience than
the meticulous insert the mounted slides or filmstrip. The filmstrip slide even has nipple
for the film perforation with the result that my image gaps do not always coincide with the webs.
Scope of supply:
.) Scanner (long enough) USB cable, cleaning brush
.) Two carriages for imagery (1 for (3) slides, 1 for film strip (approx 20cm)
.) Printed installation guide (with some operating instructions)
.) CD with driver software, software for scanning, image editing software (looks quite sensible out), User's Guide PDF
The device does not require a network connection.
Quality improvement:
Probably you can improve the quality by cleaning and Neuverglasen the slides. I have my (well protected from dust)
Dias cleaned with a lens cleaning cloth - enough for old souvenir photos.
Calibration:
Not quite clear it is to me why the calibration is performed without footage ?? Finally, it is not immaterial whether
a framed slide or a naked filmstrip is inserted. But - it works.
Summary:
If you would like without this archive up to date just for nostalgic reasons his old slides (negatives), this unit is first
Choice. Price / performance is excellent. Whether a much more expensive device from old (yellowed) disks to get more
can, I doubt it.
