It was the specifications of this printer. Easy to set up (though heavy and cumbersome), installing Linux does me no problem, everything is explained on the Brother website.

To make things easier I have assigned a fixed IP address. Printing is fast and the perfect time. I will be revising my judgment all the time that reliability is an important point for a printer. For now, all is well :-) (May 2015 - we use it 2x a week and each time: you plug the power supply and ... that's it)
