The ear can lie flat, which reduces the volume of the headphones (not negligible when it comes to storing and also more secure, since it is less likely to deform). Graduations are engraved within the arch, thereby precisely balance the headset on either side.
The cable has two parts: a first piece of ten centimeters is connected to the left atrium and is not detachable. Be careful not to break it! The other is an extension of 110-120 cm which includes the remote control. A warning about this remote control: it does not work with all devices and totally distort the sound if one does not stay down on it. In my case, I had a problem with my external sound card Asus Xonar U7, which however is out. But do not panic: a phone call from Philips (! Extremely friendly customer service), and another cable is sent to you free. Personally, it did not resolve the concern, but Philips also sent me a small adapter, which canceled the effects of the remote control. So remember to ask in addition to the replacement cable, that may not be enough.
What about comfort? Pleasant, light, but my ear cartilage flattened by ear hurt me after one hour. I may be too large or too protruding ears, who knows! If this improves with time (the arch will relax), I will change the comment.
Last but most importantly, sound. If we take a look at the curves available on some sites, note that this helmet has made more neutral, that is to say with no flights taking precedence over the others (it is still necessary that your soundcard or music player is also neutral, which is not always the case!). With this, it does not destroy the ears swollen with low (but they are present, as lightly reinforced, deep and enjoyable), and it does not tear eardrums with revving treble (it is even slightly down on high frequencies, which has little impact on listening).
The record is clean and neat, very balanced, and therefore extremely enjoyable for those who do not want a made extremely Basseux. This was achieved with flying colors!
The ear problem (mild pain in the ears) is common to all supra-aural headphones and vary according to the people, I have no reason to withdraw a star at Philips M1.
EDIT 20/07/13
As I expected, the wearing headphones for quite hours softens the arch, which adapts to the shape of the skull and loosens slightly. So I can now keep as long on the head before earache. It will only get better with time!
EDIT 22/08/14
I recently purchased the headphones AKG K701 (159 new, and it was 149 no longer!), And the difference in sound is still blatant Suddenly, the Fidelio M1 shows the limits of supra-aural headphones, which crush the sound. The one he delivers appears more closed and less airy. As this "scene" is narrower sound, clarity is less.
The M1 remains a reference in nomadic helmets, but if you plan to connect your PC often, look elsewhere: you will have better sound and superior comfort for a similar price. The K701 is an open helmet, around you will hear your music, however, and as it is a sedentary helmet, it takes rather badly on the head if we move too. But after a few weeks of running, which foot
