At JB I came in 3 SAT Sylvester 12/13 only by the opener of "Rock Around the Clock". It was a one-hour compilation of his concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, London, and at the Beacon Theatre / NY After that it was clear: The concerts are needed. And as he opens up there with electric guitar blues, namely just fantastic with madness guests like Beth Hart (necessarily listen: JB and Beth Hart Do not Explain - a true Seelenöffner), Eric Clapton, Paul Jones, so he leaves here flourish the guitar art at the Virtuellste. Blues from the top with the acoustic guitar, with great experiments by getting yet to hear that many components of Irish folk and country. Style purists are asking in part: "What the fridge?" Klangweltenerkunder be happy if these high-caliber, see Vorrezenzenten, unpack their art and develop a new addition to the familiar. JB allowed thus musical excursions that are not purely American origin.
Here is written in a review of "soulless". This is claimed also in reviews of other slices of JB. But it is not. But the repeated impression, where it comes from? Even me, the idea is not alien. Maybe it's the voice of JB, who can be awarded only to a limited, what you expect from a blues voice. In the height easily pressed and wanted, but not really clever. But if you want to pull out of more than 5 stars because of the voice of the one or the other star, remain still 5 stars. Here the soul is in the guitar playing.
