"Back Home" was re-recorded by the classic Eric Clapton-cast that accompanies the Master for several years fixed, namely drummer Steve Gadd, bassist Nathan East, guitarists Andy Fairweather Low and Doyle Bramhall II, and keyboardists Billy Preston and Simon Climie. But the number of guests on the album to be proud of and performs with Steve Winwood (Synth), John Mayer (guitar), Robert Randolph (dobro), Chris Stainton (Fender Rhodes), Stephen Marley (Perc), Abraham Laboriel, Jr. (drums), Pino Paladino (bass) and Toby Baker (keyboards) illustrious names in the program.
In addition to 5 songs that Eric wrote together with Simon Climie, also some cover versions are on the album. So the George Harrison-number "Love Comes To Everyone", the Spinners track "Love Do not Love Nobody" and Stevie Wonder / Syretta Wrights' "Going Left". Other songs are from Vince Gill, Doyle Bramhall II and Eric himself.
The album was very well produced by Simon Climie ... safe for some fans to smooth and many are doing the corners and edges are missing. It is the rather POPable, soulful series of albums like "August" 1986 "Journeyman" in 1989 and "Pilgrim" 1998 continues. Simply a good mix beautiful songs perfectly, yet cool casual played by consistently superb musicians. To relax and enjoy ... Cool!
