Customer Review

Here is a novel that is not afraid to dissect the principles of romance. Ellery is a full literary ambitions journalist is obliged to write about romance after having angered his boss. For the occasion, she is accompanied by her former boyfriend Axel, a photographer with a troubled past with whom she lived a story that ended badly. So they are both started on the road to romance, to try to understand why this genre fascinate readers.

The heroine is like everyone, full of prejudices about romance, but reluctantly agrees to read a book or two. Anything goes: paranormal romance to highlandérien history, Ellery delves into the world of romance, and to his surprise discovered taking pleasure from reading such books. His turnaround is too fast to be credible, however. Especially the author spares us no cliché, the seductive vampire virgin but manly highlander, and sometimes has the impression of reading a romance cartoon than real books, so this is a bit ridiculous. I would have preferred the author cites titles that actually exist.

Ellery and Axel therefore spend a vampire bar in the US at an abbey in London and end up in Scotland on a historic site. During their journey, they finally applaniront some different that separate them years earlier, and will learn both to rebuild trust. Yet their story, although cute, is not really affected me. I thought it lacked a bit of spontaneity, depth. So their relationship impressed at all, unfortunately.

In short, despite the original subject of the novel, he missed a little something to really take as mayonnaise.
