I had not read a good youth or young-adult dystopia for "Divergent". I found the suspense and pace of a good fiction novel that I like. I even made the thought that this might be good is a new series worthy of "Hunger Games." Indeed, "Inhuman" has, besides a pretty front cover and a fourth no less appealing, much originality. A post apocaliptyque different story with great pace that keeps us in suspense. This first in a series thus offers a compelling story that we not loose, engaging characters, a little excitement, a lot of blood and things that are scary and a bit of romance with the inevitable love triangle. .. In short everything expected by young readers hungry for thrills!
Lane, is a lost and vulnerable heroine at the beginning of the story, which is found in spite of herself in the turmoil of the wilderness, to save his father. Lane is sent on an expedition to help his father on the other side of the protective wall. Titan wall that separates the healthy population of the United State, (the one that has managed to avoid being contaminated by the virus and Ferae to cross this part of the country at the time), the contaminated population relatives which all that could not flee in time. the latter, on the other side of the Wall, in the "wild" area live in chaos and unexpected danger ...
Throughout his quest, his perilous adventure, Lane will go from surprise to surprise, discovering the virus that caused havoc all its tragic consequences, and especially life in the camps ... His character evolves over pages and discoveries, to become a real strong and courageous heroine.
In this turmoil Lane will meet two exceptional boys who will help him in his journey. Everson, the good guy in all respects, the guard of the army, the scientist who wants to contribute to find solutions to the virus, the beautiful boy always ready to help ... in short the ideal type. And then there is the "bad boy" par excellence, the wild boy, the hunter of predators, the hunk with long hair and spread squeaky, Rafe. Lane, of course, will end up surrounded by these two servants knights, as cute as different one than the other.
Needless to say that the love triangle that is emerging through the pages of the famous trio is pretty nice to follow. Yet no great romantic effusions, it remains in the background, just subtle or funny, just well balanced. The great adventure and description of chaos advocate here in the foreground, making us often wince in disgust fear or surprise. In short we captivated taking in this amazing story.
I actually had a lot of fun to follow these characters. The writing is simple, fluid. I'll still liked maybe a little more emotion, intensity in torments mentioned here and there. I found that the author does not provide us with enough force to make me tears to my eyes (things I am however very easily able to do). For this reason, I will not give my "favorite", but just my "great discovery".
Finally, the end leaves us with quite a twist, and a great desire to find the characters ...
