Functionality:
I use the stand with a 13-inch Macbook Pro Retina. The rubber coating on the contact points protects the Macbook from below and forward your investment. With a Macbook Air, I have not tested it, but as the rubber goes on the front below the bottom edge of my Macbooks, the thin front of the MacBook Airs should be protected from scratches.
Originally I had risen to stand to bring my laptop display a little further on an equal footing. Meanwhile, I use an external monitor. The stand fulfills both tasks. Whether the laptop display is the only or whether the stand is to be used to bring the laptop screen to a level with the external monitor, the mStand served its purpose.
By the side air inputs gets the Macbook on the stand particularly air and the fan announces itself to word as rare on the table surface.
Due to the large difference in height to the table top I find a work on the laptop keyboard on the stand as very unpleasant. An external keyboard and mouse (or trackpad) are therefore absolutely necessary.
The hole on the back of the stand is a good way all the cables that go to the side ports of the Macbooks, collected lead away.
The mStand is very stable, it does not wobble around and threatens neither forward nor tipping backwards. Here, the rugged, heavy aluminum body pays.
Conclusion: Who is aware that he paid at Rain Design mStand not only for practical Macbook stand, but also for the design, puts his 50 euros here good.
